Are You Frustrated with Facebook's Declining Reach?… Well don't be..
Keep Reading and I am going to share with you why Facebook's Declining Reach is a VERY good thing for you….
Okay, so Facebook's reach isn't really dead (because you can still get good traffic on occasion), but it is dying right?
Meaning, it's harder than ever to get your posts seen… Right?
Well, that might be true. Average reach is definitely down.
Keep Reading to Find Out Why it isn't really the horrible death sentence everyone seems to think it is…
In fact, I am convinced that declining Facebook reach is a VERY GOOD THING-both for users AND brands.
I for one, am GLAD Facebook has a complicated Algorithm.
Here is 1 Reason I wanted to share with you why I'm so Glad:
Declining Facebook Reach Helps Ensure Facebook Users See the Content They Want to See
According to Facebook, there are currently more than 40 million active small businesses using the site.
Did you catch that? 40 MILLION!!! (isn't that amazing?!!!)
Now lets break down the numbers:
**If each brand were to post an update even as little as 2 times a day, that's a LOT of news stories that could potentially end up in someone's news feed.
**Combine that with all of the status updates from friends and family and large corporate brands, and the number of updates you could see every time you log in to Facebook is seriously overwhelming.
**In fact, according to Facebook, every time your fans log on to the social network, there are an average of over 1,500 stories Facebook could show them!
**And for people who have a lot of friends or who like a lot of pages, the number could be as high as 15,000 possible stories!
Now I don't know about you, but there is NO WAY I could sort through, 1,500 updates every single time I logged in to Facebook- and I'm on Facebook a lot!!!
Which is exactly why Facebook's news feed uses an algorithm…
The algorithm is designed to help your fans catch up with their friends and family and see the stories that are most important to them.
Without an algorithm:
–your fans would never see that their sister-in-law just had her baby
-that their best friend from high school just landed her dream job
-or that sweet old lady from church just got out of the hospital and needs people to come over and help.
It would defeat the entire point of Facebook
And NOT ONLY that, but your fans still wouldn't see YOUR updates either!
Because in real time feed, all of your statuses would simply get buried under hundreds or even thousands of posts from other bloggers, brands, and companies trying to make it into people's feeds. (Think Twitter)
Facebook's algorithm may be frustrating, but it ensures users see the content they love so they have a positive Facebook experience that keeps them signing in again and again.
